Q: Are you a budding author, but can't find a publisher to take you on?
A: You have come to the right place, we can help!

SUBJECT MATTER ACCEPTED FOR CONSIDERATION

  • Autobiographies (About any person)
  • Biographies (About any person)
  • Investigative authors
  • True Crime
  • Historical True Crime
  • Trues Crime Reference
  • Anything factual relating to the way we live
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR MANUSCRIPT
  • Supply your type written manuscript on A4 (or USA equivalent) paper in loose leaf format, or you can email it in PC Word format. See the contact us page for our email details.
  • Make sure the spaces between words are double spaced and double space the gap between the lines, otherwise it becomes difficult to speed read.
  • Supply a synopsis of the whole manuscript and also supply a chapter by chapter synopsis.
  • Provide your details in a clear and concise manner, otherwise it will be difficult to contact you.  You will be surprised how many manuscripts are sent with no contact details.
  • Should you require the manuscript to be returned then always provide a return envelope with full postage on it.  Failure to do this will result in your manuscript not being returned, unless of course it is accepted for publication and then we will want more details.
TIPS
  • Do not send your manuscript to all of the publishers you can find in your search listings, this just wastes your time, postage and printing costs.  Far better to locate a willing publisher than a one that simply shreds your manuscript before it has even been read.
  • Don't worry too much about grammar or punctuation, if the subject matter is good then this can be sorted out for you.
  • What is important is your enthusiasm, don't send a covering letter saying that you want a £1m advance payment, etc.  Provide positive details, say if the piece has won a prize or newsworthy praise.
  • Beware of companies asking for fees of any sort... any sort.  No self-respecting publisher charges you to become a published author, remember that!  The only ones after your money are the sharks, feeding off your vanity to become a published author.
DO YOU WANT US TO ACT AS YOUR LITERARY AGENT
  • Generally, you will not be able to become a published author without first securing the representation of a literary agent.  You can knock on the doors of all the publishing houses in the world, but 99 times out of 100 you will need a lit agent to do this for you.  We do not charge any up front fees for this service!  THAT'S A FACT!  But, we do earn our 15% lit agents fee from any royalties we secure for you from a publisher, this is called an agent's fee.
  • Should you wish representation then download this PC Word format agreement (open the document by clicking here) and print out two copies.  Obtain legal advice and then, if happy and not until, sign the two agreements and send them to us, see the  contact us page for our address details.

PROOF OF WHAT WE DO

Here is a small selection of the authors we represent:
  • James Berryman Sting And I (ISBN: 184454107X - Sting's authorised Biography)
  • David Blackie - Manstopper (due out in 2005)
  • Brian Cockerill - The Taxman (ISBN: 1844541347)
  • James Crosbie - It's Criminal (Serialised in Scottish News of the World for two consecutive weekends)
  • Hailey Giblin - Secured a deal for her (April 2005) with a major London publisher
  • Jimmy Holland - Lost In Care (ISBN: 1844541614 - due out in 2005)
  • Richy Horsley - Born to Fight  (ISBN: 1844540960)
  • Robert Potter & David Mariner - Headhunted: MacIntyre Uncovered (A great script that should be published, we will keep trying)
  • David Rehak - Lizzie Borden (still seeking an overseas deal)
WHAT NOW
  • Assuming you have not approached any other publisher:
Send your manuscript, considering all of the above to:

Publishing Help Desk
PO Box 161
Gateshead
NE8 4WW

  • Should you have sent your script to every publisher under the sun, then, please, do not send it to us, we can work wonders but not miracles!
POSSIBLE OUTCOMES
  • We, ourselves, may take your title on for publication
  • We may turn down your manuscript because we feel it to be of great interest to another publisher.  Although you yourself could send your manuscript to another publisher this does not get the same consideration that we can get for you.  How can we do this?  Our vast data base of contacts make this far easier for us to get your manuscript accepted than if you sent it yourself.  We bypass the editors and go directly to the principles, something that is just about impossible for you to do.
WHAT WILL IT COST YOU?
  • This service will cost you nothing!  Yes, nothing!  Only later on, when we consider your manuscript and decide that we are going to accept it will it be necessary for you to become worried about that, as that is when we beleive we are worth our commission that we deduct from any payment we secure for you from a publisher.

So what are you waiting for, start to change your life for the better!
